The LOCEM - Telecommunications and Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory is a research and development laboratory founded in 2005, linked to the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), one of the most renowned and prestigious institutions in Brazil.

Our work is focused on the creation of new materials and innovative solutions in the field of software development, with a special focus on the Telecommunications area. In addition, we develop advanced technologies for antennas and radars, meeting the strategic demands of institutions such as the Brazilian Navy, Air Force and Army.

Prof. Dr. Sergio Sombra

Coordinator of LOCEM is a reference in the area of communication system technology. In fact, in the Best Scientists Ranking in the world, Prof. Dr. Sergio Sombra is in 44th place in Brazil and 1,848th in the world. He holds a PhD from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) and a Post-Doctorate from the University of Southampton-England (UK).
